About Your Photo Candle

We use an all natural soy wax, made from US grown soybeans.

Soy burns cooler and longer than paraffin, and as a renewable resource, it is superior for the environment. We believe that uncolored soy is not only safer to burn, but is also more beautiful in its natural color.

Our wicks are lead-free and are made of braided cotton.

Please note that our candles are made from all natural ingredients. Slight changes in color and small imperfections in the wax are perfectly normal, and will not affect the performance of your candle. We recommend burning your candles within one year for best performance.

Glow Guidance

Candle Care:

 Before Lighting:

Trim the wick: It is important to trim the wick to about 1/4 inch after each burn before lighting. This helps to prevent the flame from getting too large and causing the candle to burn too quickly.
Keep in sight: Never leave a burning candle unattended. It is important to keep an eye on the candle at all times while it is burning.
Keep the wax pool clear: Make sure to keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings, matches, and debris at all times. This can help prevent any accidental fires.

While Burning:
Burn on flat, stable, fireproof surface.
Keep away from flammable objects, children, and pets: Make sure to keep the candle away from anything that could catch fire, as well as out of reach of children and pets.
Burn your candle so the wax pool reaches the jar edge: To prevent wax tunneling, it is important to burn your candle so that the wax pool reaches the edge of the jar. This will ensure that all the wax is used and not wasted.
Container will be hot when lit.
Do not burn longer than 3 hours at a time.

First Burn:

Burn long enough to prevent tunneling: To prevent tunneling, it is important to burn the candle long enough on the first burn so that the wax is fully melted all the way to the edge of the jar.

Extinguishing:

Never blow out a candle: Instead of blowing out a candle, use a snuffer or a wick dipper to extinguish it. This helps to prevent hot wax from splattering.
Stop use when only 1/4 inch of wax remains: Once there is only 1/4 inch of wax left in the jar, it is time to stop using the candle.

Candle Fixes

Tunneling Problem:

Tunneling is when wax remains around the edges while your candle burns down in the middle.

Tunneling Fix:

Our first tip is simply to light your candle up for a long time on the first burn. And by a long time, we mean a LONG time. It could be 4 hours until the total area of your candle has melted, but it could also be 6. This is why it might be a good idea to light your candle first time in the morning or in the afternoon.  This allows you to have a few hours to burn it, before you go to sleep.

Our Second Tip is folding a piece of aluminum foil in half, wrapping it around the candle, and puncturing a hole over the flame like a tent (leaving a hole for it to get oxygen). Keep the foil on for about 30 minutes, and all of that built-up wax should be melted off the sides
